Wax Cotton

It is 100% cotton, coated with oils making it waterproof, without compromising its natural characteristics of good-fitting, comfort and freshness. Wax Cotton comes from the maritime tradition, since it was originally used for ships. sails and for sailors. and dockers. waterproofs. From the 1930.s onwards, it was also used to make waterproof sportswear for use in bad weather conditions. Belstaff was one of the first producers to work with Wax Cotton, improving it over the years, and using different weights for the different seasons and usages. For Pure Motorcycle collection, Belstaff proposes a new weight, higher than the heavy weight used in classical winter jackets, which stands out for being even more resistant and waterproof, and which is even more suitable to high tech motorcycle garments. Wax Cotton waterproof coating needs to be periodically restored by means of a proper treatment.
